On September 2nd, we’re running… for a good cause. The 3rd Village Trail Thesprotikou, we run for Autism is organized by the Thesprotiko Cultural Association in collaboration with the Regional Unit of Preveza. The event will take place on Saturday, 2/09/2023, at 18:30.
The main purpose of the event is to support the “Eleni Gyra” Autism Shelter – a Non-Profit Foundation – Adult Residence and Education Center in Zitsa, Ioannina.
The center was established by the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Autistic Persons (H.S.P.A.P.) through donations from Georgios Gyras in memory of his wife Eleni Gyra, the “Mother of Pogoni” Christian Brotherhood, and the French Philanthropic Organization “Order of Malta Knights.”
The 3rd Thesprotiko Run for Autism offers four routes:
Children’s Race (Primary School) 800m at 18:30
10km Race at 19:00
5.5km Race at 19:15
Recreational Walk 5.5km at 19:20
All routes start and finish at the “Thesprotiko Sports Ground”. The races will take place on paved and dirt paths in the mountains.
After the races, awards ceremonies will be held at the starting area at 21:15. The organizers have arranged for a meal for all athletes and their companions.
Participation in the race is FREE.
Running brings us closer, unites us, and makes us stronger together. There’s no room for discrimination; we are all equal, and we can all participate and experience the magic of running races. Everyone’s contribution is valuable, and for this reason, there will be a donation option, where everyone can contribute financially as they wish.
