On October 1st, 2023, Nea Chalkidona will host the 11th Popular Road Race on the Public Road “Georgios Apostolakis,” an event that has become a tradition and offers running pleasures for athletes of all ages.
The main event of the day is the 10,000-meter race, which will start at 7:30 PM from the premises of the former Military Factory “I. Charalampopoulos” and will finish at the “Georgios Apostolakis” park in Nea Chalkidona. This race is aimed at adult male and female athletes.
Simultaneously, at the same location and time, there will be a children’s race of 1,000 meters, open to elementary, middle school, and high school students. This race provides young athletes with the opportunity to experience the joy of running and competition and will take place on predetermined and marked routes within the city.
This race is not just a sporting event but also a tribute to the memory of the former Mayor of Nea Chalkidona, Georgios Apostolakis, who dedicated many years to the development of sports and the community.
