DADIA TRAIL RUN – DADIA MOUNTAIN RACES

The Municipality of Soufli, as part of the conclusion of the “CULTURAL SUMMER 2024” festival, is organizing a unique three-day event filled with sports, culture, and environmental activities from September 27-29. We are delighted to invite you to participate in the first “DADIA TRAIL RUN – DADIA MOUNTAIN RACES,” which will take place on September 29, 2024, in the area of the village of Dadia.

This special event marks the first running races organized after the devastating fire in the Dadia Forest. The goal of this event is to bring people closer to nature, highlight the importance of protecting and restoring the natural environment, and showcase the resilience and solidarity of our local community.

The races are organized in collaboration with the Athens Authentic Marathon Runners’ Group “ORAMA,” the Volunteer and Youth Association “KINISOU,” and the Municipality of Soufli. The running races, which include three routes of varying difficulty and distance, offer a unique opportunity for everyone, regardless of level, to enjoy the beauty of nature and test their endurance:

1. Mountain terrain race 16 km (elevation +600m) – “GYPA”: Start at 10:00 a.m.

2. Mixed terrain race 10 km (elevation +220m) – “ASPROPARES”: Start at 10:15 a.m.

3. Mountain terrain race 6 km (elevation +200m) – “GERAKINA”: Start at 10:30 a.m.

The routes have been designed by the volunteer athletes of the Municipality of Soufli, offering an unparalleled experience in the beautiful environment of the Dadia Forest. The start and finish points for all routes will be at the square of the OFYPEKA building in the village of Dadia.

Your participation is not just an opportunity for exercise but also an act of love and responsibility toward our environment. Forests are natural carbon sinks, crucial for combating climate change, and their destruction has serious consequences. Let’s come together as one strong team to run for the regeneration of our forest.
