KARPENOS TRAIL 2024

With great joy and enthusiasm, the Sports Mountaineering Cultural Association of Prionia Grevenon “KALPOUS” invites you to participate in the organization of the “KARPENOS TRAIL” race, which will take place on Sunday, September 1, 2024, with the support of the Regional Unit of Grevena and the Municipality of Grevena.

Schedule:

• Karpenos Trail (27.5 km): Start time: 08:30 a.m.

• Karpenos Temple Run (11.5 km): Start time: 09:00 a.m.

• Karpenos Entry Race (5 km): Start time: 09:00 a.m.

• Kalpous Trekking Route (4 km): Start time: 09:15 a.m.

Route Characteristics:

KARPENOS TRAIL (27.5 km)
Start and finish at Prionia Grevenon. A 27.5 km route with a total vertical ascent of 1,450 meters, crossing ancient paths and old forest roads. The race is rated by the I.T.R.A. and is a QUALIFIER race for the UTMB WORLD SERIES races.

KARPENOS TEMPLE RUN (11.5 km)
Start and finish at Prionia Grevenon. An 11.5 km route with a total vertical ascent of 730 meters, passing through award-winning forests and ancient cobbled paths.

KARPENOS ENTRY RACE (5 km)
Start and finish at the Church of Saint Athanasios. A 5 km route with 300+ meters of vertical ascent, ideal for new athletes.

KALPOUS TREKKING ROUTE (4 km)
Start and finish at the Church of Saint Athanasios. A 4 km trekking route for those who want to enjoy the nature and history of the area.
