8th Papadatou Xiromerou Road Race 2024
With great joy and enthusiasm, we invite you to the 8th Papadatou Xiromerou Road Race, which will take place on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at 19:00. The Cultural Association of Papadatai “Saint Nicholas” in collaboration with the Public Benefit Enterprise of the Municipality of Xiromerou and the Local Council of Papadatou organizes this unique sporting event.

Papadatou Village
Papadatou is a picturesque village in the Municipality of Xiromerou in Aetolia-Acarnania. It is located in the western part of Aetolia-Acarnania, southwest of Lake Amvrakia, built on a rocky hill, a branch of the Acarnanian mountains, at an altitude of 320 meters. The name of the village is said to come from the first resident who settled permanently there around 1400 AD, Papadatou from Kefalonia.
The Route
The race route is asphalted, with gentle slopes and lush green scenery, offering views of the Acarnanian mountains, the Agrinio plain, and the beautiful lakes Amvrakia, Ozero, Lysimachia, and Trichonida.
The routes:
• 1 km Race (children’s race): Starts from the chapel of Saint George and finishes at Papadatou square.
• 5 km Race: Starts from Papadatou square, passes through the chapel of Saint George and the village of Fyties, and returns to the square.
• 10 km Race: The 5 km race route, twice.
