The 8th Arta Half Marathon, ‘O Dromos tou Giofyriou,’ is coming.
The Municipality of Arta, in collaboration with the EAS SEGAS Epirus and the Arta Runners Association, announces the 8th Arta Half Marathon under the title “O Dromos tou Giofyriou”. The races will take place on March 30th and 31st, 2024.
The event includes city races for all ages and levels of runners, including a half marathon relay of 21.1 km (2×10,550 meters), a 5000m race, a 5000m walking route, and 300m, 600m, and 800m races for elementary school students.
The race route has been carefully designed, crossing the city’s most significant historical landmarks, as well as the famous bridge of Arta, offering participants a unique opportunity to explore the rich history and natural beauty of the area.
The race route has been certified by the international measurement authority and provides runners with the opportunity to run on a course that has been recognized by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS).
The Sunday, March 31st starts will be from the Gate of the Medieval Castle of Arta, while the children’s races on Saturday, March 30th will start from the square of “National Resistance.”
