The Flamingo Run 2023 is almost here! On October 1st, we are participating in a unique race that will be unforgettable for everyone!
Every first Sunday of October, the western coast of Thermaikos comes to life with the rhythm of the Flamingo Run. It is a sports and running celebration held in the area of Kalochori, in the heart of the Deltaic lagoon, and the “Red Road.” This event is not just a sports challenge but also an opportunity to discover the beauty of the region and contribute to an important social cause.
The Kalochori area is a place filled with flamingos, and its coastal routes are ideal for running and walking, as well as for family outings. The natural beauty of the area amazes every visitor, and the Flamingo Run offers athletes and visitors the chance to explore it in the most enjoyable way!
As part of the Flamingo Run, there are races of 10 and 5 kilometers for athletes of all levels and dynamic walkers who want to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. In addition, there is a 1000-meter race for children aged 9 to 12, providing our young friends with the opportunity to participate in this sports celebration.
Beyond the sports competitions, the Flamingo Run aims to promote environmental awareness. Environmental actions and information events about the area are organized, offering participants the opportunity to learn more about the environment and the need to preserve it.
Finally, the surplus of the proceeds is donated to the “Child’s Care” organization.
